Kent Test (11+)
The Kent Test (11+) is the assessment used by Kent County Council to determine whether your child might be eligible for a place at one of the Grammar Schools in the county. If you wish to apply for a Year 7 place at a Kent Grammar School, you will need to register your child for the Kent Test.
The Kent Test is made up of standardised English, mathematics and reasoning tests along with a creative writing exercise. The tests will take place on Thursday 7th September 2023 and the results will be released to you on Wednesday 18th October 2023. All the tests will take place here at school. If your child meets the standardised pass mark in each of the three assessments then you will be able to apply for a grammar school place as part of the main secondary school application process.
In order for your child to sit the test on Thursday 7th September 2023 then you MUST register them online via Kent Test - Kent County Council before Monday 3rd July 2023. If you do not register them before this date, they will not be able to sit the tests. However, you are perfectly within your rights to register them now but decide later that you do not wish them to sit the assessments.
