Off By Heart Poetry Competition

OFF BY HEART POETRY COMPETITION

We are delighted to be able to launch the St. Lawrence CofE Primary School

Off By Heart Poetry Competition 2024!

We are asking that the children have a go at learning one of the following poems for our Off By Heart Poetry Competition. The children will be asked to recite their poems in class and the two winning entries from each year group will go through to the Grand Final to be held on World Book Day, Thursday 7th March in the school hall. We are hoping this is going to be great fun for the children and prizes will be on offer for all those who have a go! The children are welcome to dramatise their performances if they wish but there's no expectation to do so. We look forward to learning these poems with you and to our final Poetry Recital where there will be extra prizes on offer and three independent judges to make the tough decisions. All the poems are now available below so please encourage the children to pick one and to get learning! Thank you!
