We are delighted to be able to launch the St. Lawrence CofE Primary School
Off By Heart Poetry Competition 2026!
We are asking that the children have a go at learning a poem for our Off By Heart Poetry Competition. This could either be one of the following suggested poems, or a favorite poem of their choice. The children will be asked to recite their poems in class and the two winning entries from each year group will go through to the Grand Final to be held in April 2026. We are hoping this is going to be great fun for the children and prizes will be on offer for all those who have a go! The children are welcome to dramatise their performances if they wish, but there's no expectation to do so. We look forward to learning these poems with you and to our final recital. Suggested poems are below so please encourage the children to pick one and to get learning! Thank you!
